Bass Lake Resort June 2021 Update

Hello Campers!

Bass Lake is so excited for this summer.  Although we are still following some COVID guidelines, it seems almost “normal” around here.  Please be reminded that we are still social distancing and at some activities, you may still be required to wear your masks.  Hopefully, by July 4th, we will see more COVID guidelines go away.

This year we are putting our basketballs and minigolf equipment back out for your convenience.  The volleyball net is back up, and the gaga pit will be open again.  We opened the Upper pool with the slide on May 22nd and we are working on the lower pool to be open by mid-June.  In addition, our café is open with new management this year, and she’s been open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through May.  The Café hours will be updated and posted at the Café and on CampersAPP.

As we have been opening the resort, we’ve noticed a lot of things that need repairs.  One of the questions we have received is if our boats will be back in the water this year.  It’s been a full year and a half since we used our boats last and all of them need some type of repair.  Consequently, we won’t put them in the water before Father’s Day.  If you have your own kayaks, canoes, or rowboats, feel free to bring them.  The docks have been put back in the water, and the fishing is good.  As a precaution, please lock your boats up to each other or something if you decide to leave them at the lake.  In case of rain, please store them upside down.

We hope you’re looking forward to a good summer and have planned several events that will be fun.  We have a new Activity Director this year and many of you know her from previous years here.  Phyllis Bates will be leading the activities this year and still has to get a full staff hired.  Kathy Bell has returned and also April Wright.  They are working to provide activities Wednesday through Saturday for the month of June.

The first weekend of June is our BLR prom.  Phyllis is planning a Country Western Theme and everyone needs to get their cowboy boots/hats/jeans and big belt buckles out.  Cowboy King and Cowgirl Queen will be crowned at the Concert in the Park on Saturday, June 5th with 3’s a Crowd.

June 12th we’re going to go to Las Vegas and we’ll celebrate with a casino night, vow renewals, and a visit from the King himself, Elvis..”Tom Gilbo and Blue Suades”…….Also, you don’t want to miss the Fashion Show at 4 pm.  You’ll need to sign up for this event and get creative with your costumes.  This is going to be so much fun.

Father’s Day June 19th, we’re hosting our annual Father/Daughter/Son fishing tournament, soap hockey, dad vs kids challenges, and The Strangers are playing at the Concert in the park that evening.

We’ll close our June with a special Safari weekend on June 26th with “Raised on Radio” and animal-themed games and challenges.

Something new this year, look on Facebook each Wednesday for a Live update from Phyllis.  She’s updating you with upcoming events and other fun tidbits about the Resort!
