February was a busy month at LSR, being one of our coldest months on record with extended periods under 60. That’s totally not like February in Florida! As I write this update, it’s a balmy, humid 80 degrees and we are furiously working on completing the TIKI bar at the new clubhouse deck. Remember that Luna Sands is the very busiest during February and March so our campsites have been booked for the past 60 days. If you still want to make a reservation, we have a waiting list and will be happy to call you when someone cancels during the next 45 days.
Resort Maintenance Updates:
We hosted a Member Build Party in January and completed all of the new decking and landscaping in February. We are completing the TIKI bar this month and will begin to host all our activities outside on the deck. There are several projects that we are working on, and completing the store re-model due to storm damage is still a priority. Once the TIKI bar is complete, we will jump back over to the store and complete the counter/office space. Once that’s completed, campsite 45 is on our list to remodel, and the stairs to the upstairs apartment above the store must be replaced.
Member Updates:
We started breakfast each Saturday morning through February and March, and during “bike week” we’ll actually have breakfast several times. Be sure to keep updated about activities on CampersAPP. If you haven’t downloaded the App, go to your play store and download it. See the picture. Once downloaded, choose the icon over the TRA location (in our case, the one over Daytona) and enter the park. We’re hosting a Magic show on Feb 26th, and then on March 6th cookie weekend, followed by St Patrick Day, and ending March with a “talent show” on World Theater weekend. Lizette and Phyllis have some fun things in store, so don’t miss out.
