Welcome to Gettysburg and the dog days of summer! As we roll into August, we are so pleased to just take a moment to look at our first ever Charity Bike ride to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. So many thanks to the people who made it possible. Stan and Karen Hemler planned and guided the ride and are already working to plan the one for next year. To our team and volunteers who pulled everything together and provided lunch to those who participated. And to all the folks who donated to what we thought was a worthy cause. Thanks to all these great people we were able to donate two hundred and sixty dollars and we look forward to seeing what the next ride will bring in 2022.
Moving forward, we have so many things that we are working on, from working on the pond, to painting, to new items and training new staff in the store, to just general clean up and maintenance of the resort. The team is always busy trying to bring you the best possible space to recreate and relax.

From a fishing derby to golf cart challenge obstacle course to a good old-fashioned 4th of July Celebration, the good times just keep rolling here at GBR! We even held our very first Motorcycle Ride and raised $300 for the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Program! And just so you know the summer fun has just begun!! On July 24th, it’s our very first Wine and Cheese Festival. Bouchette Vineyards will be doing a wine tasting and a cooking class, showcasing their amazing array of wines; all of which are complemented by the spread of smoked cheeses presented by the Smokehaus! There is even going to be wine slushies! The following week is Beach Week and Water Wars. We will be having a beach party at the pool, and a roving water war battle with campers of all ages! We will be kicking off August with our STEM Weekend for the kids and a Poker Run for the adults, followed by a weekend celebrating Hollywood, including a GBR’s Got Talent Show! Calling all princesses, knights, and troubadours, we will be looking for you during the 3rd weekend of August! GBR will be going medieval with even a Renaissance Fair! Continuing our theme of travel, the last weekend of August GBR Goes Global with games, food, and crafts from all over the world!

Please note: There are some new guidelines concerning pets for the 2021 season. On Camp Sites Manufactured Portable Pet Fences are allowed, however, the size can be no larger than 200 square feet. Effective May 1, 2021 the Pet Fee for a Pet-Friendly Cabin will be $20 per day. Just a reminder that there is a maximum of two pets allowed in the pet-friendly cabin.
