Gettysburg Battlefield Resort September 2021 Update

Geez, another newsletter already? Seems I just did one not too long ago, yet August always seems to go by fast and not sure if it’s the thought that we know summer is coming to an end and kids are starting school soon or just the fact that we continue with the fun we been having! Certainly, busy!

We have been and recently completed 5 more sites with electrical upgrading near the pond area and even ran power near the Gazebo as well. I think Rachel has already made plans to have band entertainment near the pond area. How she finds out so quick anyway?

Upcoming Activities are still happening! The next Renaissance Fair will also be a FUN raising event, then into our GBR Goes Global (Wonder what that entails), and into Labor Day Weekend, where the Fun shall continue!

I am looking forward to the ‘Fall’ of the crisp and refreshing air and not having sounds ac units drown out the ‘snap’, ‘crackle’ and ‘popping’ of the campfires. Goodbye “Dog Days of Summer” too. Halloween discussions and meetings are already underway, and plans are to have indoors of the old RV dealership by main entrance of which we recently acquired. See how fast the summer went and how near we are into Fall?

Until next time,

HAPPY CAMPING

Richard

The summer just keeps flying by, with great memories being created every day! Our Wine and Cheese Festival was a new event and members are already asking when Bouchette Vineyards will be back with their famous wine slushie machine! Members were also raving about the yummy smoked cheeses from the Smokehouse!! Beach Week was so much fun with a poolside showing of Jaws, followed by an awesome beach party with Karaoke from Rob and Rhonda! We literally had a blast with the kids (several!) with STEM week, and everyone enjoyed our Poker Run! Then it was onto GBR Goes Hollywood. Who knew we had so many talented members!!

Next up, we are traveling back to the past with our very first Renn Faire! Look for dragons, fairies, and a special guest from the show Forged in Fire! Then GBR is going Global! We will be visiting Germany, Iceland, Japan, and Kenya – all in one week! We can’t wait to sample foods and learn about these beautiful countries!! We are also gearing up for Halloween with a special Scaring is Caring event! Don’t want to give up too many secrets, but it’s going to be spooktacular!!!
